Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q 10 was discovered in 1957 and its chemical structure was determined in 1958. Many studies have been done to determine its functions in the body. New discoveries have brought incredible breakthroughs. Coenzyme Q 10 works at a cellular level helping cells gather needed energy to do their job. That is an extremely simplistic explanation however I really do not want to get into the chemical side of this story. If you are interested in that story Dr. Sinatra explains it in his book the Sinatra Solution. And I found it to be extremely interesting.

For now I would like to tell you a little about some of the discoveries and what this supplement can do. Patients given coenzyme Q 10 before a heart bypass surgery were able to be weaned of off the heart-lung bypass machine sooner; it also helped these patients to have a better recovery. Coenzyme Q 10 is produced in the body and is vital in providing energy for the cells. It produces energy for the cells like a spark plug does in an engine. It was found that there was a deficiency in the levels of Coenzyme Q 10 and that supplementation helped patients when recovering.

There have been miracles happen also. A patient with congestive heart failure complicated by pneumonia and on a respirator, and her doctors were asking the family to discontinue life support; was given Coenzyme Q 10 and a multivitamin/mineral preparation and magnesium intravenously on a daily basis. After 3 days there was improvement, after 10 days she was weaned off the ventilator, after four days she was sitting in a wheelchair and only using supplemental oxygen. Eventually she went home with conventional medical therapy and coenzyme Q 10. Congestive heart failure patients have been found to be deficient in this vital nutritional element. Many patients have been helped by adding this to their current medical therapy.

There are other amazing stories that could be told. For now it is enough to say there is amazing potential for healing many people. There have been doctors using this in addition to traditional medical therapies for years and improving lives. New discoveries are being made concerning cellular energy and the impact that energy has on heart function. Coenzyme Q10, L-carnitine, and D-ribose are part of new therapies for the treatment of heart disease at that cellular level.

Some of the degenerative diseases benefiting from Coenzyme Q 10 are clinical cardiac conditions, including congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, angina (heart cramp) and arrhythmia. Other conditions that may benefit also are periodontal disease, cancer, fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or Mitochondrial Cytopathies.

Coenzyme is also thought to help those who exercise excessively as they are using up their nutritional supplies.

More data needs to be collected about Coenzyme Q 10. However after reading Dr. Sinatra’s book and confirming information on the internet the potential for healing is amazing.

Support your cells give them the food they need.

Jean. I learned about this from Dr. Stephen T. Sinatra, M.D., F.A.C.C. and his book the The Sinatra Solution. I am glad to here that you are using CO Q10 and I hope that you are feeling better. My father has also been taking it since sometime before his heart attack. It did help in his recovery. In fact at first he thought that his doctor did not want him to take it so he stopped. Then at an appointment she asked him if he was still taking it and when he said no she asked him to continue taking it. He and I were both glad for that. So glad that you visited my website and to hear that your tastes for healthy nutrition is strong. Cutting out sugar in my diet has reduced my cravings for it. And I sure do appreciate fresh fruit a lot more.
